Big-Up is built on eight guiding community principles focused on safety and our commitment to respecting human rights. Our principles define our daily work and guide our approach when it comes to making difficult decisions. They revolve around the following themes:
We recognize that there may sometimes be a contradiction between these principles, and we carefully consider cases in which we favor one over the other. These considerations are implemented according to international legal frameworks and industry best practices, including United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, the International Charter of Human Rights, the Convention on the Rights of the Child and the princes of Santa Clara. We are also seeking input from our community, safety and public health experts, and our advisory boards.
Be fair and just: Moderating millions of pieces of content is a complex daily effort and developing a proven process is fundamental to ensuring this moderation. We undertake to demonstrate impartiality and to refer to factual elements, to obtain clear results, to communicate the implementation measures and to give the opportunity to appeal but above all to ensure that only those who deserve through the scores have the chance to succeed.
