Community Guideline

Big-Up is built on eight guiding community principles focused on safety and our commitment to respecting human rights. Our principles define our daily work and guide our approach when it comes to making difficult decisions. They revolve around the following themes:

  • No exclusions
  • Respect the privacy and rights of each participant
  • Ensuring our actions are fair and beneficial to our communities

We recognize that there may sometimes be a contradiction between these principles, and we carefully consider cases in which we favor one over the other. These considerations are implemented according to international legal frameworks and industry best practices, including United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, the International Charter of Human Rights, the Convention on the Rights of the Child and the princes of Santa Clara. We are also seeking input from our community, safety and public health experts, and our advisory boards.

  1. Give everyone a chance: our main objective is to ensure security on Big-Up and to make it a positive place of healthy emulation. To find the right balance in terms of competition and motivation, we have designed tailor-made tests taking into account the realities and areas of activity in force today.
  2. Promote healthy emulation: creativity unleashed through expression is the lifeblood of our unique community. We respect this principle by offering participants the opportunity to demonstrate their level of knowledge but even more their motivation to transcend the limits of traditional training.
  3. Encourage dreams: Resilience is a noble faculty that we advocate through our program, leading African youth to turn away from laziness and despair to embrace excellence.
  4. Follow the instructions: PerKut is committed to this project with several organizations and institutions, to give the merit of success to all those who desire a second chance in life, this noble commitment requires from everyone that these instructions and its charter are scrupulously respected at all times. throughout each process.
  5. Support inclusion: anyone who wants to succeed is welcome on our platform. We value and celebrate different points of view, interests, cultures, identities, appearances, and experiences. We know that, in the past, some communities have had fewer opportunities to generate interest. This is why we are committed to respecting the principle of equality and reducing harm that disproportionately affects marginalized groups.
  6. Protect privacy : we are committed to protecting and respecting the privacy of the members of our community and the people whose content is presented or commented on the platform. We guarantee that content shared on the platform does not expose any personal information relating to a given person or violate their privacy.
  7. Ensuring transparency and consistency : We want everyone to know our rules and standards and how we apply them. We provide clear notice of our policies and practices that enable them to be enforced consistently and fairly, and to share our efforts in transparency. When we need to prioritize another principle instead of coherence, such as local context or inclusion, we will explicitly state this in the guidelines.

Be fair and just: Moderating millions of pieces of content is a complex daily effort and developing a proven process is fundamental to ensuring this moderation. We undertake to demonstrate impartiality and to refer to factual elements, to obtain clear results, to communicate the implementation measures and to give the opportunity to appeal but above all to ensure that only those who deserve through the scores have the chance to succeed.
